SYLLABLE LINKS - Five Basic Rules
  • Syllabication Simplified
  • Testing and Teaching the Syllabic Word Analysis Skills
  • Teacher Manual, Total Syllabic Inventory, and twenty-seven Instructional Worksheets
Syllable Links pocket folio with Total Syllabic Inventory and twenty-seven worksheets

A unique tool for basic reading instruction intended to follow a thorough exposure of the student to phonic skills which we have dealt with in our 270-page Phonic Links with the related single-page Total Phonic Inventory. Syllabic word analysis involves the young reader in performing three skills: (1) dividing an unfamiliar word into syllables through the application of one or more of the five basic syllabication rules, (2) applying phonic word attack skills to the individual syllables, resulting in the reader pronouncing the individual syllables, and (3) blending the syllables smoothly into a complete, accurately pronounced word - all in a moment! Syllabication is a functional skill useful primarily in the pronunciation of unfamiliar words. Our Instructional Worksheets and Total Syllabic Inventory meet this need.
